Located by the movie theaters in Kahala Mall. Great spot to have lunch or dinner. U shaped seating area for individuals and table seating for 2 or more. They have a wide variety of flavor, proteins, broths and teas. The 2 gentleman workers kept up well with the lunch crowd that filled all of the tables. A safe, easy and tasty bet to fuel your shopping or working needs.
Goma Tei is a fantastic spot for anyone craving delicious ramen on a budget. Nestled in a cozy corner, this restaurant exudes warmth and comfort, making it a perfect place to unwind and enjoy a hearty meal. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with friendly smiles and attentive service, which set the tone for an exceptional dining experience. The staff's welcoming attitude made us feel right at home, and they were more than happy to help us navigate the menu and make recommendations. I decided to try the Shoyu Vegetable Ramen, and it was nothing short of amazing. The broth was rich, savory, and perfectly balanced, while the fresh vegetables added a delightful crunch and freshness to every bite. The noodles were cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of chewiness. My friend ordered the Chicken Tan Tan Ramen (#2 Spicy) for her first-ever ramen experience, and it was a hit! The spicy, nutty broth had just the right amount of heat, complementing the tender chicken slices beautifully. She couldn't stop raving about it and has already planned her next visit to try more dishes. What truly sets Goma Tei apart is not just the incredible food but also the ambiance. The cozy interior, warm lighting, and subtle decor create a relaxing atmosphere that's perfect for enjoying a meal with friends or family. It's a place where you can sit back, savor your food, and forget about the hustle and bustle outside. Overall, Goma Tei is a gem for ramen lovers and newcomers alike. With its delicious, budget-friendly options, friendly staff, and inviting environment, it's a restaurant you'll want to keep coming back to. My friend and I left completely satisfied and already looking forward to our next visit!
This place is located in the Kahala mall near the movie theater. It was my first time to try the won ton shoyu ramen. I would give it 3/5. The won ton was so so and it did not impress me much. My husband has his usual tan tan and he enjoyed it 4/5. I had taken one star off because the restaurant was not kept tidy. There's a lot of carton boxes which are prone to cockroaches and they're near the kitchen. I would rather not see those boxes around.
CODY visited the Kahala Mall location CODY ordered the Tantan Chicken Ramen CODY food was tasty, ample, with the right amount of spice heat CODY servers were friendly and speedy CODY dining area was clean, but cluttered CODY will return to order more food
Bustling ramen spot in the Kahala Mall that is popular with families. Even though it was busy, we put our name on the list and got a table pretty quickly. Good sized portions and nice selection of ramens and other Japanese dishes. I enjoyed the tonkatsu curry I got and the portion was generous. Was pleased to get a homemade katsu sauce for my 'katsu on the side'. My companions got the tantan ramen and both cleaned their bowls, including the yummy broth.
This is my favorite ramen place on the island. The flavors are really distinct enough to make you remember "mmmm goma tei ". I come a few times a month and have never been disappointed with popcorn chicken, tan tan seafood ramen and the gyoza will rock your world. This is definitely a ramen place everyone should try at least once and you will come back
Figured this is deserving of an update since I've been several times since my last visit, and happy to report this was a fan favorite. Love the convenience of getting here (easy parking), and that there is never a line, but wish the service was a bit more attentive. Highlights: * Curry rice * Spicy tonkatsu ramen (spice added) * Gyoza Lowlights: * Japanese wontons
How do you ramen... This Gomatei in Kahala Mall located right beside the Consolidated Theater wing and though is always quite busy they always seem to have a place for you either at any one of ten four top tables or their super long counter that seems to seat a dozen on each side. Their menu is quite massive and seems to expand beyond the traditional Japanese bowl from Fish dumplings, Won Ton and even a Truffle Ramen! Tonight I'm trying something different, Hot & Sour Soup. As I was waiting for my food outside they were giving out free samples of their new menu item "Rainbow Pickled Salad" and some drinks (milk tea, lemon iced tea or plantation tea) and a sweet young man asked if I'd like a free sample of the item offered and went outside to bring it to me which was so thoughtful and sweet, while the girl who brought out my ramen couldn't be more the opposite as I could barely hear her calling out my bowl and dropped it on the seat next to me which felt rude while another young man brought my gyoza right beside my bowl and was nice. The vibe is very cozy and welcoming with cute kids art drawings on the wall as I enjoyed my hot bowl of ramen which was yummy loved the thin noodles cooked perfectly the spicy sour soup really comfort my long work week and gave me that much needed energy. Gyoza is pan fried which I love and will have it only that way was a great two bite sized with lots of fillings. The comfort of ramen is the best and gomatei has the whole vibe and more. Thank you! Yummy
